(2) Provides installation versatility with options for suspension or vertical placements. For vertical installation, ensure the arrester is not utilized as a load-bearing insulator;

(3) Optimize the lead wire length to maintain protection efficacy while minimizing undue stress on the equipment.

Test

  • For optimal performance reliability, it is advisable to conduct preventive tests every 4-5 years. Emphasis should be on measuring U1mA at both ends of the DC 1mA arrester.
  • Prior to installation, ensure that the U1mA voltage is no less than 97% of the original factory specification and keep meticulous records of this information.
  • During routine maintenance, verify that the U1mA voltage remains above 26kV to ensure continued protective efficiency.
  • Note: It is essential to minimize harmonic distortions in the DC power supply during testing, as poor waveforms may lead to lower U1mA measurements.
