(2) Provides versatility with options for suspension or vertical installation. If choosing vertical, do not use the arrester as a load-bearing insulator;

(3) Ensure the lead wire is precisely optimised in length to maintain protection efficiency and prevent unnecessary stress on the equipment.

Test

  • For enhanced operational reliability, preventive tests are advised every 4-5 years. Focus on measuring U1mA at both terminals of the DC 1mA arrester.
  • Before installation, confirm that the U1mA voltage is at least 97% of the initial factory value and document this reading meticulously.
  • During preventive maintenance, ensure that the U1mA voltage remains above 26kV.
  • Note: Reduce the harmonic components in the DC power supply during tests, as poor waveforms can lead to low U1mA readings.
