(2) Offers flexibility with suspension or vertical installation options. If opting for vertical installation, avoid using the arrester as a load-supporting insulator;

(3) Ensure the lead wire is optimized in length to maintain protection efficiency and avoid undue stress on the equipment.

Test

  • For enhancing operational reliability, preventive tests are recommended every 4-5 years. Key focus should be on measuring U1mA at both terminals of the DC 1mA arrester.
  • Before installation, verify that the U1mA voltage is at least 97% of the original factory value and duly document this data.
  • During preventive maintenance, ensure the U1mA voltage does not fall below 26kV.
  • Note: Minimize the harmonic components in the DC power supply for tests. Poor waveforms can result in low U1mA readings.
